In April of 2021 at the USPA Spring Board of Governors, Committee and LLC Meetings, the USPA Board of Governors approved a new committee policy for the Young Players Committee, chaired by Todd Thurston. This policy defines the scope and direction of the committee’s mission, as well as its committee make up. Moving forward under this policy, the committee will begin to outline tangible goals and objectives of the committee and provide framework to best represent the sector of the USPA membership for which this committee was formed, the young players. One such strategic initiative is looking at continuing education opportunities for young players in the sport.
If you would like more information about the strategic direction of the Young Players Committee or are interested in getting involved, please reach out to Todd at toddthurston92@gmail.com or Committee Staff Member Justin Powers at jpowers@uspolo.org.
Effective Date: Saturday, May 16, 2020
The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
