It’s not the Retired Racehorse Project (RRP) Thoroughbred Makeover and National Symposium, but it will have to do. As a proud sponsor of the polo division of the RRP Thoroughbred Makeover and National Symposium, the USPA encourages members to join the RRP for a fun Virtual 5K, generously sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim, to celebrate what would have been Thoroughbred Makeover week on October 7-10.
Amble, walk, run, trot or canter from the comfort of your own home! Grab your horse, your family, your friends and neighbors, and just get moving: this event can be done anywhere, any time, during Makeover week. Record your race times and get competitive, or simply mark your race "complete." After all, 2020 is just about slogging through... no judgment here.
Sign up now to receive a free t-shirt! Participants are also invited to fundraise for the benefit of the Retired Racehorse Project through the end of October. In order to qualify, be sure to select the blue "Become a Fundraiser" button on the right-hand side of the Fundraiser page and begin earning great incentives. The RRP will award $10.00 of store credit for every $100.00 raised through Saturday, October 31. This is an ideal way to earn RRP logowear items and support a great cause!
Registration Deadline: Wednesday, October 7
Price: $35.00 (Race Fee) + $3.00 (Sign-Up Fee)
Effective Date: Saturday, May 16, 2020
The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
