Receiving a surplus of face masks produced in U.S. Polo Assn. licensing partner facilities, USPA Global Licensing Inc. (USPAGL) has distributed 1,300 masks to local communities in need, both in Palm Beach County and Nantucket, Massachusetts. As social responsibility and teamwork are both core tenets of the U.S. Polo Assn. and Nantucket Whaler brands, USPAGL is proud to show gratitude to those on the front lines of COVID-19.
Last week masks were delivered personally by global employee to Palm Beach County Emergency Management, the West Palm Beach Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the Palm Beach County Food Bank in Lantana, Florida. Face coverings were also shipped to the Nantucket Cottage Hospital. In partnership with licensees, USPAGL is proud to play a part in making a difference during this difficult time.
“Women in Polo: The Palm Beaches” will air on select days and times between Monday, May 4, and Saturday May 9, on Fox Sports Florida reaching over five million households. Released in August 2019 through a partnership between USPAGL and the Palm Beach County Tourist Development Council (TDC), “Women in Polo: The Palm Beaches” is a 30-minute in-depth look at the inspirational and fearless female polo players of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Profiling six inspiring women from different backgrounds, the show highlights the late Sunny Hale, Dawn Jones, Pamela Flanagan, U.S. Polo Assn. Global Brand Ambassadors Hope Arellano* and Ashley Busch, and Work to Ride graduate Shariah Harris.
*Hope Arellano is a member of Team USPA. Team USPA is a USPA program designed to enhance and grow the sport of polo in the United States by identifying young, talented American players and providing mentored training and playing opportunities leading to a pool of higher rated amateur and pro players and the resultant giveback to the sport of polo.
Effective Date: Saturday, May 16, 2020
The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
