The USPA Umpires, LLC has made the difficult decision to postpone all USPA outdoor and arena umpire clinics until further notice. At the present time, all USPA employees are under a no fly order due to COVID-19 indefinitely, and as the majority of the clinicians are employees, feasibility of travel will be difficult this summer. Professional umpires that are traveling to USPA Member Clubs for tournament officiating are on strict protocols in regards to social distancing, masks and other measures to ensure umpire and player safety. The clinics, which are designed to have much more personal interaction with club members, from classroom work to actual umpiring with radios, bring up additional safety concerns for everyone involved. In lieu of in-person clinics, USPA Umpires, LLC would like to offer virtual Zoom calls for USPA Member Clubs seeking to review rules and procedures.
The Umpires LLC has been engaging the USPA Membership with a new educational outreach program that focuses on the 2020 Arena and Outdoor rules via Zoom Meetings which are open to all active USPA Members. The sessions are hosted by Umpires LLC Directors (Bradley Biddle, Fergus Gould or Dana Fortugno) and feature a guest umpire. Similarly, USPA Umpires, LLC would like to offer private virtual Zoom clinics for USPA Member clubs in need.
Prior to joining the meeting, USPA Members will have to sign up for a free Zoom account. For more information on Zoom Meetings, please contact the person conducting the meeting.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
