The United States has been well represented in the British high-goal season so far. The Valiente Polo Team has made it to the semi-finals of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Gold Cup for the British Open Championship. Team USPA member Rob Jornayvaz was chosen to substitute for Bob Jornayvaz who has been side-lined due to an injury. Rob Jornayvaz joined Team USPA earlier this year and has competed in high-goal tournaments in the United States as well as England. He recently graduated from the University of Virginia where he played polo. With Rob playing in the quarter finals alongside Kian Hall, Adolfo Cambiaso and Juan Martin Nero, they overcame Clark & Green 14-7 in the quarter-finals on Saturday July 9. They will be playing in the semi-finals against the defending champions King Power on Wednesday, July 13th at 7am ET. You can watch what is sure to be an exciting game live on polochannel.com. The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
