Team USPA is proud to announce the 2018 $50,000 National 12-Goal Tournament team competing at Grand Champions Polo Club in Wellington, Florida March 1-10. The all-Team USPA member team will be comprised of Julia Smith (A), Nick Johnson (3), Felipe Viana (5) and Tomy Alberdi (4). For the third consecutive year, four Team USPA members have joined together to enter a team into the highly-competitive money tournament. After winning in 2016 and just falling short in the semi-final in 2017, the 2018 team hopes to bring home a win for Team USPA. The $50,000 National 12-Goal has been popular amongst young professional players looking to compete with and against their peers in hopes of bringing home prize money. Team Captain, Felipe Viana, is familiar with playing four-man polo after representing Team USA in two Federation of International Polo World Polo Championship tournaments. With a strong back in Alberdi and a talented offense, Viana hopes to utilize the talents of each of the players and focus on keeping the play open.
The Team USPA Committee is committed to adapting program support to promote the growth of polo and development of Team USPA players.
The mission of the Team USPA Committee is to enhance and grow the sport of polo in the United States by identifying young, talented American players and providing mentored training and playing opportunities leading to a pool of higher rated amateur and pro players and resultant giveback to the sport of polo.
