Sarasota Polo Club in collaboration with Southeastern Guide Dogs is pleased to introduce Mason Chukker, their 2020 Polo Season Mascot. Mason Chukker is an adorable nine-month-old yellow Labrador Retriever and, bundle-of-energy, who is training to be a future guide or service dog for Southeastern Guide Dogs based out of Palmetto, Florida.
Mason Chukker will be joining the Sarasota Polo Club onsite at Sunday Polo at the Sarasota Polo Club periodically throughout the polo season, while he’s learning basic manners, obedience and social skills on his way to becoming a life-changing guide dog for someone with vision loss or a service dog for a veteran with PTSD or other disabilities.
Mason Chukker was born and bred at Southeastern Guide Dogs, to do great things and when he’s about two years old, Mason Chukker will return to the Palmetto Southeastern Guide Dogs campus to complete his formal training at Canine University. The Sarasota Polo Club is proud to share a part of Mason Chukker’s journey with Sarasota Polo Club fans, as he grows into a well-rounded sportsman, and eventually becomes a life-changing superhero.
Young Sarasota Polo fans are encouraged to seek out Mason Chukker at Sunday Polo throughout the season and ask for his trading card and “paw-to-graph” or take Mason Chukker home with you by visiting the Sarasota Polo Gift Shop for a Mason Chukker stuffed animal (all proceeds to benefit Southeastern Guide Dogs). The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
