The USPA is saddened to announce that Cara Cashin Tadsen lost her long battle with cancer in June 2017. She was one of the mainstays at Chukkar Farm Polo Club in Alpharetta, Georgia. After graduating from the University of Tennessee, she and her husband Kellum Tadsen moved to Chukkar Farm grounds in the late 1970s. There she raised her six children and helped create the polo field and facilities now known as Chukkar Farm. Later with her guidance, the farm morphed into an event facility hosting corporate events, concerts, polo benefits and her specialty, weddings.
One of her greatest joys was playing club polo, especially when three of her children, Hope, Joy and Tate were on the field. Often joined by her brother Jason and her father Jack, husband Kellum announcing, and her other children (Helen, Brekken and Dane) cheering from the sidelines, many wonderful family memories were created at Chukkar Farm Polo Club.
The USPA extends our sincere condolences to the Cashin family and Chukkar Farm Polo Club.
Effective Date: Saturday, May 16, 2020
The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
