Congratulations to Port Mayaca Polo Club; Leo Mandelbaum, JJ Celis, Brad Mallett and Steve Orthwein Jr. winners of the 2016 USPA Heritage Cup 16-Goal held at Port Mayaca Polo Club in Okeechobee, FL. PMPC defeated GSA (10-7) in the finals. It was a very good match that was tied 4-4 after the second chukker. PMPC scored two unanswered goals in the third chukker, and it looked like PMPC’s game in the first half. GSA came back strong in the second half, bringing the game within one goal several times, but a penalty one and a quick goal from the throw in at the end of the fourth chukker gave PMPC a three goal lead going into the sixth chukker. GSA was unable to overcome that deficit, and the final score had PMPC over GSA (10-7).

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
