The Polo Training Foundation (PTF) Awards Ceremony held Friday, September 21, 2018, during the USPA Board of Governors and Annual Member Meeting in Oak Brook, Illinois, was a huge success. Intercollegiate and Interscholastic awards from the PTF were given to outstanding individuals in the polo community. Chosen by a select committee involved with intercollegiate and interscholastic polo, the following players received recognition for their behavior and activity on the field during the 2018 season:
•Russell A. Sheldon Interscholastic Player of the Year: Brennan Wells, Maryland Polo Club
•Female Interscholastic Player of the Year: Cory Williams, Central Coast Polo Club
•Intercollegiate Male Player of the Year: J.T. Shiverick, Southern Methodist University
•Daniel J. Wallace Jr. Intercollegiate Female Player of the Year: Jessica Schmitt, University of Virginia
Congratulations to these wonderful young players who stood out among a fantastic group of competitors participating in Intercollegiate/Interscholastic polo this season.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
