The Westchester Polo Club is challenging players to compete in the USPA Northeastern Circuit Amateur Cup (0-3 goal) arena polo tournament on April 28-29 at its arena and instructional facility at Newport Polo, in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
For players chomping at the bit to make the most of the 2018 season, the month of April in the Northeast is a great time to tune up for a fun weekend of competition to conclude the spring arena season. Teams are encouraged to register early for one of eight team positions. Registration closes at 5:00pm ET on Friday, April 20, 2018. Tournament brackets and schedule will be determined by draw. Competition will consist of four chukker matches each day, with prizes awarded to the winners. The tournament will be officiated by professional umpires from the United States Polo Association. Team registration fees includes lunch each day and a Saturday night asado. To register a team, please follow this link. Arena polo is thriving all across the U.S., at all levels of play, attracting more and more players as a fun and flexible way to get started in the sport, get fit for the grass season, extend the annual polo season and fast-track polo skills development.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
