The Oak Brook Polo Club (Oak Brook, Illinois), in partnership with Outside The Boards™, is thrilled to announce the release of its podcast celebrating the Polo Club’s one-hundredth anniversary.
Founded in 1922 by legendary businessman, Paul Butler, the Oak Brook Polo Club is an American Polo treasure and one of the oldest polo clubs in the United States. It was once the sport's epicenter for elite professional polo in the United States and served as home to the U.S. Open Polo Championship® for twenty-four straight seasons and other prestigious international and national polo tournaments. For decades the Club has been a popular Sunday tradition and social scene known for entertaining Hollywood celebrities, dignitaries, royalty and Chicago's distinguished. In 2022, the Oak Brook Polo Club will be celebrating its one-hundredth anniversary and will be returning to its original and masterpiece field, the Cecil Smith Field.
To honor this historic occasion, the Oak Brook Polo Club has invited Club friends and family to share stories and their most fondest memories of visiting and playing at Oak Brook. Join the Oak Brook Polo Club as we take listeners down memory lane with some of the sport’s household names while they share their experiences at Oak Brook and the impact the Club and its founder’s have played on their lives.
“Oak Brook Polo has had such a profound impact on so many people and the sport that it would take far too long to document it all. So instead, we thought we would share these stories directly from the people who experienced them first hand,” says Oak Brook Polo Club Managing Director, Daniel O’Leary. “The experience so far in creating this Podcast has been incredibly rewarding and educational in getting to know so many polo icons impacted Oak Brook Polo.”

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC.
