Lakeside Polo Club located in Lakeside, California, recently hosted a Polo Training Foundation player clinic with clinician Robin Sanchez. Over 25 people participated in the two-day event that had instruction on both the grass field and in the arena. Participants ranged from beginners who are currently enrolled at Lakeside's polo school to interscholastic and seasoned players with tournament experience. Each session of the clinic worked on riding for polo, swing mechanics, strategy and coached chukkers. Classroom sessions under the canopy of trees included video review, rules, arena strategies, balanced riding and a question and answer session.

"This is my second time to come out to Lakeside for a clinic," said Sanchez. "The club has grown markedly, the players have improved and the new arena is really nice. I love the way the corners play."

Laura Kingsley has attended both clinics that Robin Sanchez has taught at Lakeside and plays there regularly. "Robin is such an engaging, patient, and enthusiastic instructor,” said Kingsley. “I loved that she focused on teaching skills I could use right away to improve my game. Even in our large group, I felt that everyone got individual attention. Robin is fantastic and I'd highly recommend her clinic to other clubs and players!"

Lucy Postins’ two daughters attended the clinic; one of them currently competes on the Lakeside Interscholastic team. “The clinic with Robin Sanchez at Lakeside Polo Club was a terrific experience for both our daughters,” shares Postins. Despite their different ages and abilities, they were each able to work on improving their tactical games and their swings, both on the field and in the arena.”

"We were so happy the Polo Training Foundation was able to help support this clinic,” said Nicole Bankhead, who owns and runs Lakeside Polo Club with her husband Darrin and family. “These kind of events are important to our players and to the growth of the club. I always learn new things to incorporate into our program."
