The high-goal polo season in Argentina has officially kicked off, with the prestigious Jockey Club Open taking center stage. Held at the historic Jockey Club in Buenos Aires from September 10- 21, this tournament marks the return of the world's best polo players to Argentina. With six teams competing, each boasting handicaps between 28 and 32 goals, the 59th edition of the Jockey Club Open promises intense competition and high-caliber play.
Jesse Bray* is among the players taking part in the event. Bray will be the only American in the lineup. Bray comes fresh off a successful summer season at Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club in Carpinteria, California, where he clinched the prestigious Whittier Trust Silver Cup with Klentner Ranch.
The tournament features five 10-goal players, including Camilo and Bartolome "Barto" Castagnola, Facundo Pieres and the father-son duo of Poroto and Adolfo Cambiaso. The Castagnola brothers and Facundo Pieres are the reigning champions of the Argentine Open, the most important polo tournament in the world, while the Cambiasos were the finalists. Their presence sets the stage for exhilarating matchups as they vie for the coveted title.
