Port Mayaca Polo Club, located in Okeechobee, Florida, hosted their annual holiday tournament renamed the Stephen Orthwein Memorial Family Cup, December 27-31. In a competitive final, Traveller's Rest and Horseware faced off, Hugo Lloret trading goals with the entire Traveller's Rest team. A strong first half gave Horseware a 5-3.5 lead. Barry Finnegan, who was later named Most Valuable Player, added a superb field goal to the board to give Horseware a 2.5 goal lead moving into the final chukker. Traveller's Rest attacked goal the entire last chukker, managing to put one more through the uprights. Horseware secured the title with a final score of 7-5.5. Best Playing Pony was presented to Robert Orthwein's Cora who was started by Steve Orthwein Sr.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
