Hobe Sound Polo Club (HSPC) in Hobe Sound, Florida, will reopen this 2017-2018 season under new management. The decision to open the club was made in order to give medium- and low goal-handicap players the opportunity to play on some of the best polo fields in the area. Since the closing of Gulfstream Polo Club in Lake Worth, Florida, many players have been left without a club. HSPC’s goal is to promote the sport of polo and make it available and affordable for everyone. Along with the re-opening of Hobe Sound Polo Club on December 1, 2017, the club is offering something for everybody.
Polo Membership:
New members can enjoy three practices a week and access to the facility's amenities including; Stick-and-Ball field, exercise track, right of entry to the riding trails, exclusive use of VIP lounge areas, and most importantly the treatment of royalty. After each final game, there will be a celebration including; champagne toasts, a presentation of trophies, team photos and additional prizes.
Tournaments:
HSPC is offering 4- and 6-goal tournaments focusing on the players’ needs.
The Polo School:
Students will learn under the tutelage of former 5-goal instructor Carlos Gonzalez, a polo player with more than 30 years experience. Gonzalez also owns a polo school located in Loxahatchee Groves, Florida, and has played professionally across the United States. HSPC is excited to reach sports fans and enthusiasts by introducing polo to this area and growing interest through the concept of polo for everyone. The new Polo School is currently accepting students of all ages, riding levels, and disciplines for polo lessons. The Polo School is the club’s first lesson-based polo program and the new team looks forward to offering more opportunities for people to engage in the sport.
Polo Day Experience:
In addition to the wide variety of polo programs, Hobe Sound Polo Club is proud to offer corporate and social events in partnership with Polo Day Experience. The proposal combines an outstanding environment and impeccable service provided by a team of professionals dedicated to making events successful. Polo is ideal for client entertaining, team building, family days, product launches, reward events and many more. Along with Polo Day Experience, the club will create packages to meet all specified requirements and budgets, therefore offering different levels of participation and hospitality (www.polodayexperience.com).

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
