Did you know that Garrison Forest School (GFS) in Owings Mills, Maryland, is the only girls' school in the United States to offer polo? This year, GFS celebrates 40 years of girls playing against—and beating—coed and all-male high school, college and club teams across the country.
Dan Colhoun started the program in 1979 and GFS is thrilled to honor him and Cindy Halle in an afternoon polo extravaganza on Saturday, October 26. Halle will be honored at the event for over 20 years of service to the polo program and for building the sport of polo for girls and boys in the Maryland area for decades. U.S. Polo Assn. will serve as the official apparel sponsor of the event which will feature a USPA alumni tournament and exhibition matches showcasing past and present Garrison Forest School polo players. An entryway for females into the sport of polo at a young age, Garrison Forest School continues to foster an environment of sportsmanship and comradery consistently producing high-caliber players. Garrison Forest School invites all to attend this landmark event honoring key leaders in the history of the illustrious program.
