The Museum of Polo and Hall of Fame wish to recognize a player who has made exceptional lifetime contributions to the sport of polo. Any player is eligible for the Philip Iglehart Award who has contributed to the game in an extraordinary and honorable manner, whether on a regional or national level.
Any person may be recommended for the Philip Iglehart Award by any other individual. Candidates’ names for consideration will be presented to the Nominating Committee by submitting an application which will be returned, completed and signed by the nominating parties.
The selection process will focus on years of commitment to the game, pioneering efforts, record as a polo pony breeder, trainer, mentor or coach, patronage of the sport (i.e. as a club founder or team owner or for involvement in intercollegiate, interscholastic, Polo Training Foundation or the Museum of Polo), sportsmanship record, involvement in USPA and/or Federation of International Polo (FIP) affairs, tournament wins and other significant achievements.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
