Audi faced off against Tupungato in today's East Coast Open bracket play. Tupungato received one goal on handicap at the start of the game. Audi played competitively keeping Tupungato scoreless until the fourth chukker when Santi Torres put a goal on the board—Audi, however, still maintained a six goal lead. Tupungato rallied in the remainder of the game with Naco Taverna putting in a valiant effort. Despite scoring four goals in the last two chukkers, Tupungato was unable to overcome the deficit. Audi secured their second bracket win with a final score of 13-7.
Due to wet field conditions at Greenwich Polo Club the second game of the day between Airstream and Postage Stamp Farm was moved to Mashomack Polo Club in Millbrook, New York. The 19-goal Postage Stamp Farm team received two goals at the onset of the game as a result of Airstream’s 21-goal handicap as Agustin Bottaro was raised from 0 to 1-goal following Airstream’s first game. Guillermo Aguero dominated the first chukker for Airstream with three goals from the field. Two goals in the first two chukkers by Joao Paulo Ganon kept Postage Stamp Farm in the game, 4-4 after two chukkers. Then four unanswered goals, one from each Airstream player in the third chukker put Airstream on top 8-4 at the half.
The teams traded goals throughout the fourth and fifth chukkers, yet Postage Stamp Farm was unable to overcome their third chukker deficit. Bottaro made the final and only goal of the last chukker with a skillful nearside tap. Airstream seized their first bracket play victory of the East Coast Open defeating Postage Stamp 13-7.
