Escape Aviation (Hamilton “Max” Gundlach, Nicolas “Nico” Diaz Alberdi, Ezequiel “Gallego” Martinez Ferrario, Felipe “Pipe” Miguens Casado) emerged victorious in a nail-biting East Coast Gold Cup final at Greenwich Polo Club in Greenwich, Connecticut, narrowly defeating Jefferies (Leandro Infantino, Antonio Aguerre, Victorino “Torito” Ruiz Jorba, Carlos “Toly” Ulloa) 13-12.
Fiercely competitive from the opening chukker, the two teams exchanged goals to keep the score close. Maintaining a slight edge throughout, Escape Aviation utilized their collective momentum to fend off a late surge from Jefferies and secure the one-goal victory.
Hamilton “Max” Gundlach was named Most Valuable Player. Don Ercole Pili, played and owned by Victorino “Torito” Ruiz Jorba was awarded Best Playing Pony.
Looking ahead, the next major event at Greenwich Polo Club is the 18- to 20-goal East Coast Open, slated from Sunday, August 25 to Sunday, September 8.
