Get your calendars out because the highly-anticipated U.S. Open Arena Polo Championship® returns after a two-year hiatus! The thirty-sixth edition of the event will be hosted by the California Polo Club and held at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, December 3-5, 2021.
Established in 1980 and returning to the West Coast after a decade, the tournament promises high-quality 12- to 14-goal arena competition and $50,000 in prize money for an unrivaled arena polo experience. The event is free and spectators are encouraged to cheer on their favorite team in person. Spectators can also look forward to a festive Player’s Dinner benefitting Polo Players Support Group on Friday evening following the fast-paced polo matches. For those who cannot attend in person, all games (excluding consolation matches) of the U.S. Open Arena Polo Championship® will be livestreamed exclusively on Global Polo TV at GlobalPolo.com.*

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
