Running from Tuesday, May 23 to Sunday, June 18, the prestigious Cartier Queen’s Cup will return to the historic grounds at Guards Polo Club in Windsor, England. Fielding an impressive 17 teams, this year’s official rosters include 29 Gauntlet of Polo alumni and many competitors who made a lasting impression on the momentous inaugural season at the National Polo Center – Wellington (NPC).
Entering two teams in the Cartier Queen’s Cup, 2022 finalist Park Place Vaara will be led once more by 10-goaler Hilario Ulloa fresh off earning his fourth U.S. Open Polo Championship title. Facundo Pieres, captain of Pilot during the winter season, will join Park Place for a second consecutive year.
Competing separately in the Gauntlet this year, father-son duo Adolfo and Poroto Cambiaso will re-unite in England once more for Scone Polo. Each achieving great success in the Florida high-goal season, Adolfo guided Valiente’s Gauntlet debut to two finals appearances, earning the organization their fifth C.V. Whitney Cup title, while Poroto led Scone back onto the podium for the first time since 2021 capturing the USPA Gold Cup.
Continuing his meteoric rise in the sport, Poroto also earned his second consecutive USPA Junior Open victory at the NPC alongside Santos Merlos. A dominant force in the inaugural Florida Circuit 16-Goal Super-Series, both Merlos (Park Place Vaara) and Lucas "Luckitas" Criado Jr. (Monterosso) will aim to take the momentum of their successful season into the tournament.
Reclaiming the historical Westchester Cup for England following a spirited battle against USA in international competition at NPC, Mark Tomlinson (Cibao La Pampa), reigning Cartier Queen’s Cup champion James Beim (Vikings) and Tomas Beresford (UAE Polo Team) will take to home soil and attempt to deliver their respective teams the coveted title.
