Running from Tuesday, May 17 to Sunday, June 12, the prestigious Cartier Queen’s Cup will return to Guards Polo Club in Windsor, England. Featuring nineteen GAUNTLET competitors on the official rosters, this year’s edition includes young Poroto Cambiaso coming off a phenomenal breakout performance in the U.S. Open Polo Championship. Cambiaso and Scone Polo hope to see the return of 10-goaler Adolfo Cambiaso from an injury, as they look to make their second consecutive Cartier Queen’s Cup final, following a 10-6 defeat to UAE Polo Team last year.
Competing in the second 22-goal tournament of the UK season, American Mackenzie Weisz (King Power), Active Team USPA member Matias Gonzalez* (Monterosso) and Team USPA alumnus Jared Zenni* (Clinova) will each seek to reach their first Cartier Queen’s Cup. final appearance. Fellow American Dillion Bacon will be continuing his season with Great Oaks LL following a 10-9 overtime loss to Twelve Oaks in the final of the Justerini & Brooks Prince of Wales Trophy.
Fielding two teams in the Queen's Cup with each anchored by a 10-goaler (Facundo Pieres, Hilario Ulloa), Park Place will feature USPA Gold Cup and U.S. Open Polo Championship champion Pieres alongside fellow GAUNTLET competitors Andrey Borodin and Francisco Elizalde. Teaming up once more for Park Place Vaara, the duo of Ulloa and Juan Britos will continue their bid for the cup alongside Josh Hyde. Defending champions UAE Polo Team features a new line-up, with Lucas Monteverde Jr. and Bartolome Castagnola joining returning players Tomas Beresford and HH Sheika Maitha.
All games in the Cartier Queen’s Cup will be available on-demand on Global Polo TV.
*Matias Gonzalez is an Active Team USPA Member and Jared Zenni is a Team USPA Alumnus. Team USPA is a USPA program designed to enhance and grow the sport of polo in the United States by identifying young, talented American players and providing mentored training and playing opportunities leading to a pool of higher rated amateur and pro players and the resultant giveback to the sport of polo.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
