The American International Polo Foundation (AIPF), a 501(c)(3) registered charity, has officially kicked-off a campaign to host a junior team with players ages 12 to 14 from Chile. In 2018, the AIPF sent an American team to San Cristobal Polo Club in Santiago, Chile, to compete in a junior tournament that included competitors from Argentina, Peru and the United States. Treating players to the trip of a lifetime, the memorable experience included accommodations at the home of their Chilean hosts alongside premier horses and fields.
The AIPF is actively seeking a host club able to provide suitable horses, fields and accommodation for an American hosted junior tournament tentatively scheduled for either the spring or fall of 2024. Additionally, the AIPF is working with the USPA to select a team comprised of excellent stewards of the sport, with an announcement for applications to follow.
If your club is interested in hosting the junior tournament, please contact AIPF President-Treasurer Ed Armstrong at aipfpolo@gmail.com. For more information about AIPF including contributing a tax-deductible donation, please visit the AIPF website. All donations over $100 will receive a limited edition, AIPF hat.
Effective Date: Saturday, May 16, 2020
The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
