The National Youth Tournament Series (NYTS) program was established to provide youth players the opportunity to compete with and against their peers in USPA outdoor circuit tournaments. Hosting a NYTS Qualifier is a great way to incorporate local youth players into a club. NYTS Qualifier Tournaments officially run from March 1 to July 31 and are available to be hosted by USPA Clubs across the United States and Canada. To secure a date, email NYTS@uspolo.org, then submit an application online through the tournament database, accessible by logging into the USPA Member Portal. Clubs are encouraged to run NYTS qualifiers in conjunction with unrated youth polo chukkers for beginner and intermediate players.
Eligible NYTS Players must be current USPA members born after January 1, 2006, with a minimum -1 handicap. Interested players should contact the host club directly to register. At each qualifier, All-Stars are selected based on horsemanship, sportsmanship, playing ability at current handicap and teamwork. All-Stars are then eligible to be selected to advance to the National Championship.
The USPA provides trophies, t-shirts, a Best Playing Pony blanket and a day-of tournament manager for on-site support. Host clubs are responsible for organizing teams, providing a field, scheduling two umpires as well as assembling an All-Star Committee.
For questions or to schedule your 2025 NYTS Qualifier Tournament, contact the NYTS team at NYTS@uspolo.org.
Effective Date: Saturday, May 16, 2020
The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
