The Honolulu Polo Club, Dawson Media and Hawaii Polo Life are proud to present the Hawaii International Polo Championships. Set against the majestic Ko’olau mountains at the Waimanalo Polo Fields of Oahu, the match was played between Team Land Rover and Team Jaguar.
This event of international proportions saw the who’s who of Oahu gathering for the 4th Annual Hawaii International Polo Championships.
Christopher Dawson, President of Dawson Media and Hawaii Polo Life flew in some of the best names in polo to compete in this event. Internationally ranked polo players including Nic Roldan Luis Escobar, Carlitos Garcida, Mariano Gracida, Javier Gracida, Rob Yackley and Julian Alvarez took the field for a four chukker match.
Sky Waikiki DJs and bartenders set the tone while Neiman-Marcus models represented a vision of fashion that was uniquely Hawaiian. Velocity Hawaii brought their most luxurious selection of exotic cars for all attendees to experience.
The event kicked off with a helicopter escort by the Hawaii Polo Life fleet that brought the players to the field from Honolulu. Spectators were also treated to a sky jump by the Red Bull Skydivers who jumped in tandem from 2,500 feet above the polo fields.
The event saw some of the best polo action in Hawaii with well fought chukkers and a final score of 7-6 in favor of Team Jaguar.
The event also marked the release of Hawaii Polo Life Magazine’s fourth issue, which was published in partnership with Modern Luxury and can be found in Modern Luxury’s September/October Issue.
Once the party in Waimanalo was over, the festivities moved to the Top of Waikiki at the Sky Lounge, where players, media and spectators celebrated this historical match and their love for the sport of polo in Hawaii.
