The Argentine Association of Polo (AAP) has confirmed the dates for the 2023 Triple Crown, featuring the 130th Hurlingham Open, the 83rd Tortugas Country Club Open and the 130th HSBC Argentine Polo Open.
To better preserve the fields of the Alfredo Lalor venue in Pilar, which are used for many tournaments throughout the high-goal season, the order of the Triple Crown tournaments was changed. This year's series will begin with the 130th Hurlingham Club Open, played in a single-elimination format starting in the quarterfinals. The semifinals of this event will be held at Palermo.
The Tortugas Open will have two groups of four teams, with the winners of both groups to face off in the final match.
The HSBC Argentine Polo Open will be the closing act of the Triple Crown, with a total of 10 teams participating. The teams will be split into two groups of five teams each, with the final played between the winners of each group.
The Hurlingham Open and Tortugas Open will be played with seven-chukker matches, except for the finals, which will be eight-chukkers. All games in the HSBC Argentine Polo Open will be played in eight-chukker matches.
The eight teams scheduled to compete in all three 2023 Triple Crown tournaments are La Dolfina (Hurlingham and Palermo defending champions), La Natividad (2022 Tortugas champions), Ellerstina, La Hache, La Ensenada, Cria La Dolfina, La Hache II and La Irenita Clinova.
