The USPA recognizes the importance of the Intercollegiate/Interscholastic (I/I) Program and is pleased to announce the tenth year of providing funds for the enhancement and support of intercollegiate and interscholastic clubs and teams through the Start-Up and Enhancement Program. The Start-Up and Enhancement (S&E) Program was designed to assist in carrying out the Mission Statement and Strategic Goals of the I/I Committee by helping to grow and sustain the sport of polo at the I/I level.
Intercollegiate teams may apply for up to $2,000 in funding through the I/I Start-Up and Enhancement Program. Qualified items include tack and equipment. Applications are reviewed by a committee of volunteers and are accepted from September 1 – October 1 each year. To apply, click here.
Intercollegiate and Interscholastic teams may also apply for up to $1,000 each year to assist with the costs of putting on a fundraiser. The application should include a detailed description of the event outlining expenses, income and projected profit. Applications are reviewed by a committee of volunteers and are accepted on a rolling basis. For more information, click here.
I/I clubs are now eligible to apply for Polo Development Initiative (PDI) funding. For more information on PDI, contact Pam Mudra at pmudra@uspolo.org.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
