The game of polo relies on a relationship between horse and rider. Polo “ponies” as they are called, though full sized horses, are unique partners to polo players. The Atlanta Polo Community is honoring its equine teammates by hosting a Gala on May 20th to benefit the Save the Horses rescue program. This is a black-tie event that includes dinner, dancing, music, and a silent auction.
The event is from 7-11 pm ET and will be hosted at the Metropolitan Club in Alpharetta, GA. All proceeds from the event will go to support the great work of the Save the Horses Rescue in Georgia.
"Save the Horses" is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with no paid employees, all financial support goes strictly to the animals’ well being. Funds raised from the event will go towards the purchase of feed, veterinarian bills, medications, farrier care, farm equipment, supplies and farm facility maintenance.
All polo players, local horse owners and horse enthusiasts are invited to join in for a night of fun, food and friendship in support of Save the Horses Rescue.Tickets are $85 and available for purchase online at www.2016pologala.com. For more information about Save the Horses rescue and its programs please go to www.savethehorses.org.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
