The United States Polo Association (USPA) is pleased to announce that the third installment of the USPA Junior Open Test Match will return in 2024. Organized by USPA Polo Development, LLC and the USPA Junior Committee, the tournament is set to take place this February at the National Polo Center (NPC) in Wellington, Florida, and will offer $10,000 in prize money.
Last year, Wind Swept (Harrison Reicher, Rufino Merlos, Poroto Cambiaso, Santos Merlos) pulled away in the final chukker to defeat Dutta Corp/Show+ (Leon Schwencke, Nico Diaz Alberdi*, Ignacio Arbelbide, Timmy Dutta*) and secure the 10-7 victory. Read the recap here.
This year’s event will run from Wednesday, February 14 through Monday, February 19. The final will take place at NPC on Monday, February 19. The 10- to 16-goal tournament is open to players 22 years of age or under at the start of the competition. Teams interested in competing must submit entries by midnight on Thursday, February 1, and pay the entry fee of $2,200 at the time of entry.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
