I am Michael Carney and running for Great Plains Circuit Governor. I have been playing polo since 1970. I have participated in polo around the world in low, medium and high goal events. In addition, I have also run the Wichita Polo Club for 25 plus years.
I have been hired as a pro, hired pros, run a green horse operation and have played from 0-to 30-goal polo. I would like to say I have seen it all, but maybe not. I am currently on the Tournament Committee, the Rules Committee and the Chairman of the Umpires LLC. I also served as a Governor at Large from 1995-1999.
I have seen clubs run around the country and feel I have a lot of experience to listen to ideas and promote ideas to help grow club membership in the U.S. and keep the USPA strong.
In over 45 years of polo I feel I can offer experience and advice covering all levels of polo.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
