No polo or horse experience? No problem! Mountain View Polo Club starts from the very beginning, teaching you the basics of polo riding and hitting the ball. Students can progress from beginner through advanced practices, where the focus is on safety, learning rules and perfecting team plays. The polo club's patient horses and professional instructors will guide you through learning this addictive sport on horseback.
Mountain View Polo Club is located in Charles Town, West Virginia, with panoramic views of the mountains surrounding the Shenandoah River. Lessons are conducted in a 300' by 100' foot outdoor sand polo arena set on top of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The club boasts a practice hitting cage complete with life-sized wooden horse, allowing club members to perfect their polo swing. Mountain View Polo Club hosts umpired arena practices and lessons from April through January, as well as various clinics, camps, club and USPA tournaments for adults and children (ages 8 and up). Mountain View Polo Club is conveniently located in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia, near Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. Visitors welcome!

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
