After years of horse showing, Kylie took her first polo lesson in 7th grade at Garrison Forest where she attended school and competed throughout her youth. A member of Team USPA since 2013, Kylie began initially teaching friends and classmates where she played collegiately for University of Virginia, bringing home 2 National Championships and was a 4-time National Intercollegiate All-Star. Currently, Kylie runs Flying Cow Polo Club in Wellington, Florida in the winter, spends spring and fall in Aiken, and travels throughout the U.S. in the summer season. Kylie teaches, trains green horses, and offers rental strings in both Wellington and Aiken. In addition to her business, Kylie has participated on several NYTS selection committees as well as representing the U.S. internationally in Nigeria, Malaysia, Argentina and Ireland.
What has been one of your favorite teaching memories?
“It is always so rewarding to see my students not only improve their polo but also their horsemanship and complete understanding of the game. Also, at the beginning of my teaching career, getting to help introduce some of the students at the Middle Grades Partnership to horses and polo. This is a program at Garrison Forest that provides summer support to academically promising middle school youth from Baltimore City. It was an inspiration to see the program eventually offer polo as a part of the curriculum, pioneered by Cindy Halle.”

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
