Born in Argentina, Nico was exposed to a wide array of sports early. Each summer he chose a different sport to learn, from soccer to rugby to basketball. Through his father Nico found a love for polo at age 14 and stuck with it. After University in Argentina, studying Human Resources, Nico traveled the world playing polo in Ireland, Malaysia, Venezuela, U.S, and Canada. For the last 5 years Nico has been working for Clemente Zavaleta, in the Argentina season as a pilot and barn manager for the Argentine Open. Simultaneously, in the U.S for the last 5 years Nico has been playing, making green horses, and teaching polo in the Pacific Northwest and California.
What has been one of your favorite teaching memories?
“I had the opportunity to work for the same sponsor for 16 years as a player and barn manager. Playing with him for that long was a very rewarding experience."

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
