He grew up at West Hills Stables in New York, and learned about horse care and polo from his mother, Maret, and Hall of Fame member Joe Rizzo. He played in his first real polo game at the age of 10, and had first polo job with Paul Rizzo. Ken then worked for others, including former USPA president Bill Sinclair and Dave Rizzo, and began teaching polo in 1992 while running the Diamond Ranch in South Hampton, New York. Ken was a member of the 1992 FIP team, and introduced polo to Turks and Caicos in 2016 where he ran their first polo clinic. Ken taught for 6 years at Country Farms and Meadowbrook Polo Club in New York before moving to Aiken, SC, where he started his own polo school, Flat Out Farm and runs FireStar Polo Club.
“I love when a student successfully learns a new play on the field or a new skill. Instant positive feedback for them.”

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
