Juliette has loved horses her whole life, however she developed a love for polo in high school. A third-generation polo player, Juliette learned from her father, brother, and grandfather. Juliette has been a USPA member for 10 years. Powers Polo School, where Juliette teaches, was founded in 2011 to help grow the sport of polo in the area. Actively a part of Interscholastic and Intercollegiate polo, Juliette began teaching lessons in 2008, and after 2011 she began teaching polo lessons. In 2015, Juliette was the winning trainer of the polo discipline at the Retired Racehorse Thoroughbred Makeover.
What are your favorite teaching memories?
My favorite teaching memory is when I hosted my first middle school polo tournament, I started with students in April who never sat on horses before. They developed great horsemanship skills, sportsmanship skills, and by our October tournament I mentioned to the crowd “Wow! this actually looks like they are playing polo!” It was a very proud moment for me.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
