Born and raised in Argentina, Ernie began riding at the young age of 2 and playing polo at 5. While growing up Ernie helped assist his father teaching lessons as the “advanced student” and began playing competitively for the Argentine Polo Association at age 14. Ernie moved to the United States in 2001 where he continued his professional playing career and teaching. Ernie has traveled throughout the United States playing and began running the LA Equestrian center in 2015.
What has been one of your favorite teaching memories?
“Teaching a student in LA who came to my program with no knowledge of horses or polo. Coming from a troubled environment, he has been able to use polo as a positive outlet for learning and staying focused on school and constructive activities. I am so proud of the progress he has made.”

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
