His polo career began when he was invited to play at the Midland Polo Club in Midland Texas in 1967. He began teaching polo ten years later in 1977 when he worked at the Midland Polo Club. He taught lessons to help bring in new membership that facilitated horse sales. He started his career at Culver Academies in 1991 when he took the position as Polo Coach and Equitation Instructor. He received the Regional Umpire award that same year. He took over the Director of Horsemanship position in 1995 and continued coaching polo until 2007. Edgar has hosted many player, umpire and coaching clinics at Culver Academies. He is currently the mentor to the CMA and CGA coaches, assisting them with practices and often umpiring matches. He is certified with the Certified Horsemanship Association as a Director of Horsemanship, the Culver Academies Stable, and all Instructors. He is also an Instructor for the Culver Leadership Academy; a program using horses to teach basics in leadership.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
