Seneca Polo School Instructor Wayne Briere has been teaching and playing polo since 1975, when he learned from polo legends such as Hal Vita at Shallowbrook, Connecticut, and Big Joe Muldoon of Poolesville, Florida.
In 1982, Briere had an incredible time at West Palm Beach, Florida working for the Major, playing in front of thousands at West Palm Beach Polo in the Coca-Cola Challenge and winning the Alligator Open at Gulf Stream! What a classic tale of the times. After 40+ years involved in polo, Wayne has amassed a lot of experience, polo contacts and friends.
Wayne's teaching emphasis is on the importance of horsemanship and riding. His primary goal is to develop young talent and foster enthusiasm for the sport in everyone. Wayne also has a mallet shop on-site and makes customized polo mallets for players from across the country. His brother Chris, and son Joe, are also in polo.

The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week.
