REGIONAL PRESIDENT'S CUP

TOURNAMENT HISTORY

Established in 1998, the Regional President’s Cup was reformatted in 2020 to serve as a qualifying tournament for the National President’s Cup with priority entry to first and second place Regional President's Cup teams. The return of this nationwide tournament format will bring together teams representing USPA Member Clubs around the country and restore the relationship between the two trophies.

The Regional President's Cup was played at Beverly Polo Club (The Plains, Virginia) for the first time in 2021, with seven teams competing over two weeks of play. Pineapples and Pussy Cats (Liam Lott, Bautista Micheletti, Martin Ravina, Audrey Wilde claimed the title, defeating 10 Goal Wealth at RBC/Wiseman Wealth 10.5-10.

Returning to Beverly Polo Club for the second time, this year's edition will field four competitive teams. The defending champions will compete under a new moniker, Dragonfly/Pineapples, with returning members Audrey Wilde and Martin Ravina, alongside new teams Point to Point/Highfields, Royal Bank Canada/La Mariposa and Santa Aurelia/I4I.

THE VENUE

Beverly Polo Club (Beverly) is the culmination of years of sport horse training, competing and horsemanship on both coasts of the United States. Beverly’s Equestrian Center was designed and built to provide excellent all-weather, year-round training facilities and professional-level horse care together with consistent client support and training for the busy rider. Beverly provides an active polo program that offers lessons and horses year-round in Virginia and Florida and hosts polo practices and league play during the Virginia season.

In addition to its passion for horsemanship and horse sports, Beverly is committed to preserving open land and maintaining the unique character of Northern Piedmont. Accordingly, Beverly Equestrian has placed its farm in a perpetual conservation easement with a donation to the Land Trust of Virginia. Beverly’s owners have developed a conservation easement that includes unique provisions for stormwater management and long-term landscape management, ensuring open space for equestrian pursuits.
