NPC 16-Goal Championship

National Polo Center - Wellington
April 9 & 13, 2025

The NPC 16-Goal Championship (formerly the Florida Circuit 16-Goal Super Series Championship) developed from an innovative effort spearheaded by the USPA Tournament Committee to draw more teams and participation into medium-goal competition. In a true testament of collaboration, participants are able to experience 16-goal competition at multiple clubs in qualifying events, while also vying for the opportunity to compete for the championship at the National Polo Center - Wellington (NPC).

Held across South Florida, four prestigious national tournaments serve as qualifiers for the NPC 16-Goal Championship:

The final three tournaments are played on a series of private fields falling under the Wellington Polo Tour (WPT) umbrella.

To reinforce the idea that all participation is encouraged, players are able to compete in as many events as they would like on either the same team or on different teams, however, qualifying teams must maintain at least two of their original members in order to play in the championship.

Point System

The NPC 16-Goal Championship is an NPC Event played at the 12- to 16-goal level. Four teams qualify for the championship tournament and eligibility is determined by a point system. Teams receive points based on team standing in any or all of the four USPA National Events designated as qualifiers and hosted by participating clubs. Teams are not required to participate in all four qualifiers.

In accordance with the Tournament Conditions, each team participating in
a qualifying event earns points towards eligibility for the championship. Teams that win a qualifier are awarded 25 points, second place teams in a qualifier receive five points and a team that comes in third or fourth place receive one point. If there is a tie in points between two or more teams in which all the tied teams played each other, the win/loss record in qualifier games played between those teams will be used. If it is not clear which team(s) advance based on win/loss record, a one-man shootout will be used to determine the team that advances to the Championship.

If a player qualifies on more than one team, that player must choose which team he or she would like to compete with in the Championship, and the other team may use a substitute. Qualifying teams must maintain at least two of their original members in order to play in the championship.
