BRONZE TROPHY®
TOURNAMENT HISTORY
Established in 1980, the Bronze Trophy is a prestigious national tournament played at the 8- to 12-goal level. Originally hosted at Gulfstream Polo Club in Florida until its closure, the tournament was played from 2015 to 2023 at New Bridge Polo & Country Club in Aiken, South Carolina, before making its debut on the West Coast at La Herradura Polo Club LLC in Santa Ynez, California.
No team has accomplished back-to-back victories in its three decade history, with The Glenlivet (1984, 1986), Equuleus (2000, 2010) and LBL (2018, 2023) each topping the podium twice. Recent champions include Hit Air (2020) and LBL Polo (2023).
In 2024, Maharlika (Gina Padilla, Santino Magrini, Miguel "Miki" Novillo Astrada Jr., Matias Magrini) faced Los Altos (Alvaro Fernandez, Kristos "Keko" Magrini, Guillermo "Memo" Gracida, Luis Saracco, Hope Arellano). Tied entering the fifth chukker of play, Maharlika broke the stalemate, scoring four goals in the period to ultimately earn the hard-fought 13-9 triumph.
Proudly returning to the Sunshine State, four talented teams will descend on Grand Champions Polo Club in Wellington, Florida, to award a new champion. Leading the pack with three (2002, 2009, 2011) Bronze Trophy titles, Juan Bollini Sr. will seek his fourth victory with Casablanca. Earning wins in 2015 and 2019, Joaquin Panelo returns to the competition for Quite on Z. Also earning an individual victory in 2020, Jack Whitman will vie for his second title with Globalport, with each member of Los Machitos attempting to earn their first Bronze Trophy. Representing Team USPA is Active Member Jack Whitman (Globalport) alongside alumni Grant Ganzi (Casablanca).
