Garrison Forest School is seeking an Assistant Polo Coach for the 2016-17 school year. Working alongside and under the supervision of the Head Polo Coach, the Assistant Coach will be involved in all aspects of the GFS Polo program including teaching students of all ages, coaching, horse care and management, tournament organization, and facility and equipment organization and management. Some travel is required for away games and tournaments.
Candidates should have some polo background and equine knowledge, along with solid riding skills. Applicants should have the ability and desire to work with young people and adults, be responsible, mature, trustworthy and enthusiastic, have a strong work ethic and the desire to learn and work in an environment committed to diversity and inclusion. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. A background check is required. Benefits available.
The position starts September 1 and runs through the school year, although arrangements could be made for a September through mid-March position if necessary. GFS is working with the USPA Polo Development, LLC through their Polo Internship Program providing a possible stipend for candidates who align with the goals of the Internship Program.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
